What a pleasure it was to once again return to the charming riverfront city of Paducah, Kentucky to photograph a wedding in my own native style. Sarah and Rob chose this destination for the location and vibe of the riverfront downtown area and the historic 1857 Hotel; their ceremony and reception venue. The couple found me by searching for a photojournalist wedding photographer; as they preferred to enjoy their day, spending time with loved ones without sore feet from standing in orchestrated groups with forced smiles. This beautiful Paducah documentary wedding started with prep at the hotel-owned brownstone condos. Upon coordinating with the couple and their wedding planner, it was a perfect match.
Here's a photo slideshow that I provided the couple, as a fun, and easily sharable way to help others relive the day, or feel like they were there. These slideshows are included in all default wedding photography collections.
Paducah documentary wedding, by Nashville wedding photographer Jay Farrell
After the outdoor courtyard ceremony, it was time to move it indoors, and get the cocktail time underway. It was encouraging to see people mingling again, something that was not seen in this capacity in prior years due to Covid-19. Following cocktail hour was a delicious dinner, with catering compliments of Artisan Kitchen.
Upon the start of the reception party begins, and it was a great time with Rob and Sarah! Thanks for your hospitality and for choosing me as your documentary wedding photographer / storyteller. Interested in booking me as your Paducah, anywhere, or Nashville documentary wedding photographer? We can talk.
