MEET JAY
My name is Jay Farrell—an LGBT friendly East Nashville-based documentary photographer, explorer, and published author. My rescue Boxer doggo's name is Miss Buttons. I love supporting small local business and going on photography excursions— both short and long. Photojournalism / street photography and fine art photography is my background—staying true to these roots has helped create my brand. This signature style hinges on observation over orchestration; documenting the true moments—the elated, the silly, the poignant.
How does this approach benefit wedding clients?
Being a personalized service, every couple should evaluate their needs based on the desired feel of their photos ( also the experience they wish to have with their photographer). If you're a couple who fancies an understated presence from your photographer and to have the story of your day told organically, this approach could be for you. With many Nashville wedding photographers to choose from, this niche style is perfect for couples who want to enjoy their day and not endure long portrait sessions with forced smiles and sore feet.
Proposal and lifestyle photography-
With a similar approach, my objective is to get to know you, understand your needs, and tell your story as you accomplish a milestone moment—or a routine activity you wish to translate to photos. When work begins with the person proposing, I provide communication, local insight and personalized service—then lurk in the shadows to complete my task.
What about headshots?
I pride myself on efficient service—clients often need headshots on a short notice basis, and not all enjoy the thought of being the subject. It's a more enjoyable experience for the client when it's a brief and painless process, and even better when their headshot is well lit and flattering. Tasteful and subtle retouch is included. In studio or on location headshots are available; complete with electronic proofing and file delivery.
Oh yeah, and......
I'm a Fujifilm / Leica photographer, and believe it's important for the experience of photography to remain fun. If you want to see my fine-art photography and are looking for new unique wall art / picture collections, I'd appreciate if you'd also look at my sister website, Farrell Gallery.
